Gemini Spark officially launches in Malaysia as Google’s 24/7 AI agent

Google has officially launched Gemini Spark in Malaysia, bringing its new AI agent to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Unlike a traditional AI chatbot, Gemini Spark is designed to work continuously in the background, handling tasks on your behalf even when your phone is locked or your computer is asleep.

Powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash, Spark is integrated directly with Google Workspace apps such as your Gmail, Docs and Sheets, allowing it to automate routine tasks without additional setup—even when your laptop is shut or when your phone is away.

According to Google, you will always be in charge of Spark. This means that you get to decide which apps it can access, and Spark will ask for confirmation before carrying out important stuff such as sending out emails or making purchases.

Some of the tasks Gemini Spark can perform include summarising school emails, finding weekend events around Kuala Lumpur, reviewing monthly bills and subscriptions, drafting customer replies for businesses, and even learning your email writing style to generate future drafts that match your tone.
