CelcomDigi launches Malaysia’s first industrial 5G-SA warehouse

By Raymond Saw June 10, 2026

CelcomDigi has launched what it claims is Malaysia’s first industrial 5G Standalone (5G-SA) powered intelligent warehouse. Located in Shah Alam, the Advanced Intelligent Warehouse serves as a live demonstration site for enterprise customers looking to explore practical 5G-enabled logistics solutions.

The warehouse combines multiple connected technologies over CelcomDigi’s 5G-SA network, including automated pallet storage systems, 5G-powered automated guided vehicles (AGVs), AI-powered surveillance, autonomous inventory drones and a digital twin platform that provides a real-time view of warehouse operations. A warehouse management system ties everything together by providing centralised inventory monitoring and operational oversight.

According to CelcomDigi, the facility has achieved a 30% improvement in space utilisation, boosted operational efficiency by over 50%, and increased inventory accuracy to nearly 100% through the use of AI-driven systems and autonomous technologies.

Beyond improving efficiency, the company says the deployment also helps reduce manual intervention in repetitive and potentially hazardous tasks. AI-powered monitoring systems and autonomous machines can handle routine operations while providing real-time alerts and safety monitoring, allowing employees to focus on higher-value work.

The project was developed together with several technology partners, including Move Robotics, Infinium Robotics, Ailytics, Cobra Security Electronics (CSE) and ZTE. Their solutions cover autonomous robotics, drone-based stock management, AI video analytics, connected fleet management and digital twin technologies.

The initiative also received support through the Bengkel Inovasi GLC (BIG) programme, a government-backed innovation initiative led by the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and Cradle Fund. The programme aims to encourage collaboration between government-linked companies, startups and industry players to accelerate technology adoption.

“As industries accelerate the adoption of AI and automation, advanced connectivity will become a critical foundation for future operations, enabling practical 5G-SA use cases that deliver impactful business outcomes at scale.

Our Advanced Intelligent Warehouse demonstrates the power of bringing together connectivity, solutions and commercialisation to solve real operational challenges and create value for businesses. Through strong local partnerships and innovation ecosystems, we aim to accelerate enterprise digitalisation and support Malaysia’s digital ambitions,” – Albern Murty, CelcomDigi CEO

The launch builds on CelcomDigi’s earlier efforts in smart logistics, including its collaboration with DHL Supply Chain in 2023 to explore 5G-enabled warehouse and logistics solutions. The company says the Advanced Intelligent Warehouse will also function as a living innovation lab, allowing businesses to test and evaluate 5G and AI-powered applications before deploying them in their own operations.
