After first announcing it late last month, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 finally gets pricing and availability details. AMD Vice President of Ryzen and Radeon graphics David McAfee has confirmed that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 will come with a USD899 (RM~3,571.73) recommended retail price, with availability starting from 22 April onwards.

To recap, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 packs a massive 208MB of cache, split between 16MB L2 cache and 192MB L3 cache. As a comparison, the previous flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D has 144MB of cache, while the non-X3D Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 7 9700X have 76MB and 40MB of cache respectively.

The processor itself comes with 16 Zen5 X3D cores and 32 threads running on at a base speed of 4.3GHz with boost speeds up to 5.6GHz. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is also a pretty power hungry chip, requiring a 200W TDP, the highest ever TDP for a desktop Ryzen.

As for performance numbers, AMD didn’t share gaming performance data during its unveiling, but did share that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 will offer up to 13% improvement in content creation, rendering, compilation, AI and simulation workloads.

It was previously estimated to have a price tag close to the RM4,000 mark, so it’s nice to see that the actual price is a few hundred ringgit less that that. Nevertheless, we will have to wait till it’s officially available in Malaysia to know just how much its street price will be.
