AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D relaunched to celebrate 10 years of Socket AM4

After months of leaks, AMD has finally made it official at Computex 2026: The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is back and better than before. The ultimate gaming processor for those on the Socket AM4 platform has been relaunched as AMD celebrates 10 years of the AM4 platform.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition is essentially the same processor as before, with the same eight Zen 3 cores, 16 threads running at up to 4.5GHz boost clocks with 100MB of L2 and L3 cache. It runs at a 105W TDP, and again like before you won’t be able to manually overclock it.

There are some minor changes though. AMD basically had to re-engineer the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for its re-release, as their fab partner TSMC no longer used the first-generation stacking process. Their engineers then had to re-engineer it to match the newer bonding process used at TSMC.

Other changes include a new box with AM4’s 10th Anniversary logo on it, and will also come bundled with a Carbice Ice Pad thermal pad created with carbon nanotubes that have previously only been available through system integrators.

As for benchmarks, well unsurprisingly AMD mostly shared how it stacks up against popular AM4 processors of yesteryear, with up to 115% more FPS compared to the Ryzen 7 2700X. Incidentally, AMD also compared it against the Intel Core i9-14900K running on a DDR4 system, with the 5800X3D on average scoring 10% more FPS.

Of course, AMD relaunching the Ryzen 7 5800X3D also has the benefit of now giving users with an aging gaming PC who are unwilling to shell out a fortune on a new system with expensive DDR5 memory a great upgrade path. Most users already on something like a Ryzen 5 3600 will now have the option to get a brand new Ryzen 7 5800X3D again now that it’s back in supply.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will be available from 25 June onwards, with a global recommended retail price of USD349 (~RM1,398.41) at launch. For more information on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, you can click here to head over to its product page.
