Adobe Premiere lands on Android with 4K video editing, AI tools and no watermarks

Android creators finally get their turn. Adobe has brought its Premiere mobile video editing app to Android after launching it on iPhone last year, and the best part is that it’s completely free to download and use.

The app brings many of the editing tools used by professionals into a format that’s easy to use on your phone. It’s designed for creating vlogs, tutorials, podcast clips and social media videos on the go. Adobe also highlights that the app doesn’t require users to sign in, has no ads or watermarks, and doesn’t constantly ask users to upgrade, making it an alternative to some other mobile video editors.

As for editing tools, Premiere mobile comes with a multi-track timeline that lets you work with video, music, text and effects in one view. It also supports frame-accurate editing, giving you more control when making precise cuts. For those who want a quicker way to start editing, there are creator-made templates available, or you can create your own.

The app also includes Enhance Audio, which can reduce background noise and improve the clarity of voiceovers and interviews with a single tap. Beyond audio improvements, you can add effects, transitions and music to your videos using assets from Adobe Stock or your own files, as well as take audio directly from a video clip. Once your edit is complete, you can export the video in up to 4K resolution.

Adobe has also included several Firefly-powered AI tools, including Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and Generate Sound Effects. All of these features are available in an editing experience with no ads or watermarks.

More features are coming too, with Adobe planning to add Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection and the ability to continue an edit in Premiere on desktop. The app itself will remain free with its main editing tools, while users can choose to pay for additional generative AI credits and storage.

For Malaysian creators, this could be a useful option. Android is widely used here, and with short-form video remaining popular, a free and watermark-free editor from Adobe gives creators another option alongside apps like CapCut. Just note the requirements, as you’ll need a device running Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM.
