You’ll soon be able to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 on TikTok

FIFA has announced that it’s collaborating with TikTok, making the platform its first-ever Preferred Platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The agreement will run until the end of 2026 and focuses on expanding digital coverage and fan engagement on social platforms, with the key goal being bringing the FIFA World Cup 2026 to TikTok viewers.
As part of the deal, TikTok will host a dedicated FIFA World Cup 2026 hub, featuring official content, match-related information, and interactive elements such as stickers and filters. The hub will be powered by TikTok GamePlan, its sports-focused platform for fans.
FIFA and TikTok will also launch a creator programme, allowing selected creators to access behind-the-scenes areas including press conferences and training sessions. Other creators will be able to use FIFA archival footage to produce World Cup-related content too.
“FIFA’s goal is to share the exhilaration of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with as many fans as possible, and we can’t think of a better way to further that mission during the biggest event in sports history than to have TikTok as the tournament’s first Preferred Platform.
This is an innovative and creative collaboration that will connect more fans across the globe to the FIFA World Cup in unprecedented ways, bringing them behind the curtain and closer to the action than ever before. As football grows and evolves – uniting an increasing number of people – so should the way it is shared and promoted,” – Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General
As for broadcasters, they will be allowed to live-stream selected match segments, share more curated clips, and access FIFA-produced content tailored for TikTok. This means that you could potentially be watching those important last minutes of the World Cup directly on the app. TikTok will support monetisation through its advertising solutions and implement anti-piracy measures too.
This collaboration builds on FIFA and TikTok’s partnership during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, which generated tens of billions of views on the platform. TikTok says users who watch football content on the app are 42% more likely to tune in to live matches.
