You’ll be seeing ads on Threads soon

Threads, Meta’s own Twitter-esque social media platform, will be introducing ads soon to all users around the world. According to Meta, this rollout follows their initial rollout of ads to advertisers last spring, and ought to offer businesses a way to extend their reach of existing Meta campaigns on their other platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
This means that the familiar video, image and carousel styled ad formats you might’ve seen on other Meta platforms will be heading to Threads, with Meta saying that it will natively appear on your feeds. The tech giant also added that ads on Threads will be AI-powered, allowing people to see the same level of personalisation in Threads ads that you get on Facebook and Instagram.

Ads on Threads will be rolled out gradually from next week onwards, and for businesses using ads on Threads ad delivery may remain low at the start as they expand ads on Threads to global users in the coming months. As for users, you will see the ‘Sponsored’ tag next to any ad on your feed, so that you can tell if what you’re looking at is a normal post or an ad.
