You finally won’t need to install the Razer Synapse app, if you use these devices

In my review of the Razer Cobra HyperSpeed, I mentioned how despite mostly liking the compact gaming mouse, I was not a fan of the Razer Synapse app at all. It took up way too much computer resources and was just added hassle to the experience. Well it seems like the Singaporeans may have taken note, as they’ve now finally introduced their web-based launcher tool, Razer Synapse Web.

Now available as a beta release, the Razer Synapse Web is their own take on a lightweight web app that lets you instantly tweak and customise the settings of your Razer device. You’ll be able to use a browser to quickly adjust key settings, RGB lighting, edit profiles onto device memory and more. Razer says that the Synapse Web will allow anyone on the go or perhaps not on their main gaming PC to quickly set up their devices.

Unfortunately, seeing as this is just their beta release, supported devices remain limited. Specifically, you’ll only be able to use the Huntsman V3 lineup of keyboards for now, so that means the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz, Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz and RazerHuntsman V3 Pro Mini. That being said, Razer does say that they’ll be adding more supported devices as the web app expands so you can still try it out down the line. Incidentally, one other requirement for Razer Synapse Web appears to be the use of Chromium-based browsers, so no Firefox for now either.

Razer are far from the first to do so of course, as the likes of Keychron and Corsair already have web launchers of their own. But it’s nice to see Razer finally join the rest of the industry in not requiring users install a separate app just to control their hardware, albeit for just those few devices for now.
