Yes 5G Launches 5G Advanced Upgrade at No Extra Cost for Existing Customers

Yes 5G has launched its new 5G Advanced network in Malaysia, introducing a range of improvements over its current 5G standalone (SA) service. This upgrade brings faster internet speeds, lower latency, better indoor coverage, and broader outdoor reach.
One of the key features of Yes 5G Advanced is Malaysia’s first use of 5G Advanced Network Slicing, which allows intelligent traffic management that provides Quality-of-Service-based prioritisation. 5G Advanced is built on Yes’s existing “True 5G” standalone network, which handles both calls and data fully over 5G without relying on older 4G infrastructure. It uses the full range of 5G spectrum bands, including the 700MHz band that offers better indoor signal strength and wider coverage.

Users can expect improved upload and download speeds, lower latency, and more stable connections, whether indoors or outdoors. The rollout includes all Yes 5G mobile postpaid plans, which start at RM38 per month, as well as Yes 5G wireless broadband services.
Starting from 9 October 2025, all Yes 5G Postpaid and Broadband customers will be automatically upgraded to the new 5G Advanced network at no extra cost. No registration is needed, and existing SIM cards will continue to work. However, users will need a 5G Advanced-compatible device to enjoy the upgraded service.

For broadband users, the Infinite Gateway router already supports 5G Advanced and will connect automatically when within coverage.
Users can learn more about Yes 5G Advanced on the telco’s official website.
