Xiaomi Reportedly Developing Phone With Massive 9,000mAh Battery and 100W Fast Charging
According to a new leak from reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is working on a smartphone equipped with an enormous 9,000mAh battery. The upcoming device is also said to support 100W fast charging, making it one of the most ambitious Xiaomi phones to date.
Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 Could Feature a 9,000mAh Battery
The leak suggests that one of Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi series phones will debut this massive battery. In addition, the company is reportedly testing a 10,000mAh battery prototype, which, if released, would set a new benchmark for smartphone battery capacity.
If the information proves accurate, this mysterious Redmi phone could easily become one of the longest-lasting smartphones on the market. However, the specific model name remains unconfirmed.
Some Chinese insiders speculate that this device could be the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5, which could also turn out to be the POCO X8 Pro. However, that theory conflicts with other recent reports suggesting that the Redmi Turbo 5 will feature a 7,500mAh battery instead. Until Xiaomi makes an official announcement, the phone’s true identity remains unclear.
Limited Global Availability Expected
While the idea of a 9,000mAh or even 10,000mAh Redmi phone is exciting, there’s a catch. It’s unlikely that the same high-capacity model will reach global markets. Xiaomi often reduces battery capacities for international variants, particularly those featuring silicon-carbon battery technology.
So, although Chinese users might get the full 9,000mAh experience, international buyers may see smaller batteries in global versions of the device.
