1. Improved Display
The Mi Band 6 has become amongst the first wearable band to feature a full AMOLED, 326ppi display. Removing the home button notch allows for an overall larger display estate.
One may think that an additional 0.46″ isn’t much, but it is essentially increasing the overall screen size by ~41% and the difference is noticeable.
Notifications on the Mi Band 6 contains more lines and bigger font size. Making the overall reading experience more pleasant.
As for the improved pixel per inch (ppi) from 291 to 326, users will also enjoy sharper and more vibrant images.
2. SpO2 tracking feature
The Mi Band 6 now comes with an SpO2 tracker which allows users to keep track of their blood oxygen levels at all time.
SpO2 is an important metric for monitoring patients afflicted with respiratory illnesses like sleep apnea, emphysema, or Covid-19. With this feature, patients can detect potentially dangerous SpO2 levels early, and receive treatments sooner.
3. 30 Fitness Modes
As a fitness band, it is only fitting for it to come complete with proper fitness tracking. Unlike the Mi Band 5 which only tracked 11 different fitness activities, the Mi Band 6 now gives you 30 different fitness modes to choose from.
Jump ropes, dancing and Zumba are among the many new modes users can choose from. In addition, the Mi Band 6 also automatically tracks six of the following activities: six activities: running, walking, treadmill, cycling, rowing machine, and elliptical.
4. Others
Aside from the 3 major upgrades, the Mi Band 6 also comes with 3 of the following features:
- Stress tracker: Allow users to track their stress levels throughout the day with a pre-set interval.
- Deep breathing: Allow users to track breathing patterns whether while sleeping or doing breathing exercises.
- Female health tracking: Allow female users to track menstrual cycle and more.
Final thoughts:
Perhaps the most important upgrade for most of us would be the improved display. Unless you have a need to track a specific exercise mode, a Mi band 5 will still serve you well and there isn’t a real need to upgrade in our opinion.
The Mi Band 6 will be available for pre-orders on 15th April at RM169. If you have yet to own a Mi Band, then you should definitely opt for the Mi Band 6 as it is definitely value for money.
