Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs
Starting off first with the top-tier offering, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will fittingly have the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor; this will built on the 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS4.0 storage available.
Similar to last year’s Ultra rendition, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will retain the vegan leather back with the large circular camera bump. In it, are the much talked about Leica co-engineered quad cameras. Leading the line-up is the 50MP 23mm main camera featuring a 1″ Sony LYT-900 sensor and f/1.63 to f/4.0 stepless variable aperture.
Next in line is the 50MP floating telephoto lens with 75mm equivalent focal length. Alongside that is the 50MP periscope telescope camera with a much further 120mm equivalent focal length. On the other side of the scale is the 50MP ultra-wide with 12mm focal length. All three lenses mentioned are backed by the Sony IMX858 sensor.
In theme with its camera phone branding, photography is enhanced with a few filters and features, including the Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic styles; as well as its range of Master Portrait styles.
To enhance your photography game further, you can purchase the attachable Photography Kit which features a handgrip, as well as a shutter button to mimic that of an actual camera. The Photography Kit does not come in the box, but can be purchased separately in Malaysia.
Flip the phone to the front and you’ll be met with a 32MP selfie shooter.
As for video recording, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra can record at a maximum 8K 30fps resolution. It can also record in 120fps, but only in 4K resolution.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the bigger phone in the series with a 6.73″ LTPO AMOLED display packing WQHD+ (3200x1440p) resolution and DCI-P3 colour gamut. Refresh rates are adaptive from 1Hz to 120Hz, and peak brightness reaches 3,000nits. For protection, Xiaomi has opted to use its own Xiaomi Shield Glass, which they claim has improved drop resistance by up to 10x compared to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
The Ultra variant is kept running with a 5,000mAh battery, with support for 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Other features to take note of is its support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as its stereo speakers.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.
The
Xiaomi 14 specs
Now for the base variant Xiaomi 14, despite being the lesser of the series, it thankfully still comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, alongside 12GB LPDDR5X and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.
There is a significant change in design here compared to the Ultra model. For starters, the large circular camera bump has been swapped out for a square module with rounded edges. It is also no longer smack in the middle of the device, but now pushed to the top left corner. Additionally, it does not have a vegan leather back, instead sporting a smooth matte-like panel.
The other obvious difference is the size of the device. The Xiaomi 14 is the smaller model with a 6.36″ AMOLED display with 2670x1200p resolution. Similar to the Ultra, it has 1-120Hz maximum refresh rates, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 3,000nits peak brightness.
As for its cameras, the Xiaomi 14 misses out on the 1″ sensor and has one less lens compared to the Ultra. It still boast Leica cameras, but this time in the form of a 50MP 23mm main camera with 1/1.31″ Light Fusion 900 sensor. This is flanked with a 75mm telephoto floating camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide. At the front, is a 32MP selfie shooter.
You can expect similar filters and features found on the Ultra, such as the Leica Styles and Master lens system.
Rear cameras can record at 8K at 24fps. The maximum fps you can record with is 60fps, but can only be done with 4K.
For batteries, it relies on a 4,610mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It retains the support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as its stereo speakers and IP68-rated protection.
