1. Samsung crowned No.1 Global TV Manufacturer for 15 Consecutive Years
According to Omdia, a market research firm, Samsung Electronics topped the global TV market for the 15th consecutive year. In the report, Samsung Electronics recorded 31.8% in global TV market share by revenue in Q4 2020 and retained the largest annual category market share by revenue in 2020, at 31.9%.
In the recent CES 2021, the Samsung was awarded honoree award for their 43” THE FRAME QLEDTV and The Wall Luxury which is a strong indication of their continued strength in the industry.
2. Whatsapp desktop launches audio and video call feature
Whatsapp desktop users can make voice and video calls directly from their laptops and desktop computers. It is important to note that this feature is limited to calls to individuals and not groups.
Also, the feature is only available for the downloaded Whatsapp and is yet to be supported on Whatsapp web.
3. GSC buys MBO cinema assets
Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), which is owned by PPB Group Bhd, is acquiring the majority of cinema assets from the MBO chain of cinemas, which is currently undergoing a creditors’ voluntary winding-up.
