1. Samsung S21 Ultra 5G Wins Best Smartphone of the Year

The Samsung S21 Ultra 5G was crowned the winner of under the best smartphone category during the GLOMO 2021 awards ceremony.

The other nominees included the iPhone 12 Pro Max, OnePlus 9 Pro, Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Mi 11 Ultra.

The winner was selected based on the following judging criterias:

  • Physical design and innovation
  • Device performance and form factors
  • Genuine new innovation deployed e.g. in form factor, technology, features
  • Product usefulness in terms of functionality and features
  • Price point and perceived value for money
  • Commercial success in global territories
  • User experience, quality & reliability

2. Flying car completes first ever inter-city flight.

AirCar, a dual-mode car-aircraft vehicle moved closer to production this week, fulfilling a key development milestone in a 35-minute flight from the international airport in Nitra to the international airport in Bratislava on June 28th, 2021.

Klein Vision’s patent-protected AirCar completed its 142nd successful landing in Bratislava at 6:05 AM. After landing, at a click of a button the aircraft transformed into a sports car in under three minutes and was driven by its inventor, Professor Stefan Klein and co-founder, Anton Zajac to downtown Bratislava, cutting the typical travel time by a factor of two.

3. Malaysia appoints Ericsson to deploy nationwide 5G

Digital Nasional Bhd has appointed Ericsson (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as its partner to develop Malaysia’s nationwide 5G network and ecosystem.

The appointment was made following a rigorous tender exercise that started back in March. Under the deal, Ericsson will design and build the national 5G network at a total cost of RM11bil, inclusive of tower rentals and fiber leasing. This cost is significantly lower than the initially budgeted RM15bil.
