New Product Launch in Malaysia

1. Facebook changed its corporate name to Meta
During the Connect 2021 event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Meta, which brings together our apps and technologies under one new company brand. Meta’s focus will be to bring the metaverse to life and help people connect, find communities and grow businesses.
The metaverse will feel like a hybrid of today’s online social experiences, sometimes expanded into three dimensions or projected into the physical world.
It has been confirmed the products owned by Meta, namely Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp will remain unchanged.
2. Touch ‘n Go partners with Visa
Touch n Go (TnG) has entered into a strategic partnership with Visa. Under the partnership, Touch ‘n Go eWallet will join Visa’s Fintech Fast Track Programme which provides the eWallet provider access to Visa’s global network of partners and affiliates.
With this partnership in place, Touch ‘n Go users will soon be able to make cashless payments at even more merchants worldwide. Additionally, a Visa prepaid card that is tied to Touch ‘n Go eWallet will also be developed to allow for more ways of making payments and even withdrawing of cash from Visa support ATMs.
3. SENHENG will start delivering food on 1 November 2021
SENHENG recently started building its very own superapp that allows shoppers to not only purchase consumer electronics but also purchase mobile reloads, tickets or book home fix services.
Starting 1st November, the app will further allow shoppers to order food from over 700 merchants including household brands like Tealive, Empire Sushi, Dragon-i, Kenny Rogers, BMS Organics, Ho Kow Kopitiam, and more.
Senheng will be collaborating with reputable third-party delivery providers, such as GrabExpress, pandago, Lalamove, and more to ensure your food is delivered safely and in a timely manner.
4. Spotify reduces daily and weekly plan price and introduces a student plan
The daily Spotify plan was introduced at RM1.50/day and was reduced to RM1.00/day before being adjusted to the new price of RM0.75/day. The weekly price was also adjusted from RM3.90 to the new RM2.90/week.
In addition to the price change, Spotify also introduced a student plan where students can enjoy subscription at only RM7.50/month instead of RM14.90/month a typical individual subscriber is required to pay. Students must have a valid student ID to enjoy up to 4 years of discounted pricing.
