vivo Y100 5G officially launches in Malaysia with RM1,199 price tag
vivo Malaysia has officially launched its latest budget offering in the form of the vivo Y100 5G. The new addition to the Y Series will play successor to the Y78 released just last August in 2023.
The vivo Y100 5G is now available for order, with a price tag of RM1,199. Interested buyers can put their orders down at vivo’s official E-store; or on the vivo official store on Shopee and Lazada.
As part of its launch promo, orders from the 28th of February until the 28th of March 2024 will come with free gifts worth RM298, including a pair of vivo Selection Earbuds and a year of extended warranty.
vivo has done away with the 3D curved display that was on its predecessor, with the Y100 5G now having a boxier flat panel design, although there is still a fair bit of curvature around the screens.
As for specs, the Y100 5G utilizes the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. It will comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS2.2 storage that’s expandable up to 1TB if needed.
The device sports a 6.67″ AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, along with a maximum 120Hz refresh rates and 1,200nits high brightness.
Despite having three large vertically-lined modules at the rear, only two are camera lenses; the first being an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and the second the 50MP main camera. The last bump is where the Flicker Sensor is housed. Flip it to the front, and you’ll find an 8MP selfie camera in a punch hole.
There’s a solid 5,000mAh battery on the Y100 5G, supported with 80W wired charging.
A few more noteworthy mentions is its dual stereo speakers at both ends of the phone, as well as its IP54 dust and water resistance.
The Y100 5G comes in two versions: a Purple Leather version draped in vegan leather, and a Crystal Black variant with no leather.
