vivo X100 Series now available in Malaysia; Price starts from RM3,499
vivo has kicked off the early days of the new year with its 2024 flagship lineup. The new X100 Series will play successor to last year’s X90 Series, promising improvements in performance and photography.
The series comes in two variants, the X100 and X100 Pro, both of which are available for pre-order in Malaysia starting today. The vivo X100 (16GB+512GB) will retail at RM3,499, while the headliner vivo X100 Pro (16GB+512GB) retails at RM4,599.
Pre-orders for the vivo X100 will come with a complimentary vivo TWS air worth RM179 and a Joyoung Multifunctional Power Blender worth RM1,599, while pre-orders for the X100 Pro will come with a pair of vivo TWS 2e and a vivo Selection Smart Watch worth a combined RM568, together with the same Joyoung Multifunctional Power Blender.
Pre-orders will run from 3rd January to 5th January, available on vivo’s official E-store, as well as on the vivo official store on Shopee and Lazada.
The vivo X100 and X100 Pro debuted the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip when it first launched in China, and will be the first smartphones in Malaysia to utilize the flagship processor. The Dimensity 9300 will rival that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a processor which can already be found on the newly launched IQOO 12, nubia Z60 Ultra, and REDMAGIC 9 Pro.
Following in the footsteps of last year’s X90 Series, the X100 Series will feature a proprietary chipset working in tandem with the Dimensity 9300. The V2 Chip, which appeared on the X90 and X90 Pro, will run its course again on the X100; while the enhanced V3 Chip will debut on the X100 Pro. The supplementary V2 and V3 chips will boost processing capabilities relating to visuals, frame rates, and image and video processing.
As for cameras, vivo’s collaboration with Zeiss will continue on the X100 Series. Both phones sport the ZEISS logo on its large circular camera module, but the X100 Pro will receive the bulk of ZEISS Optics technology, as well as the Zeiss 1-inch sensor behind the 50MP main camera. This is flanked by a 1/2″ 50MP telephoto camera with 4.3x optical zoom and 100mm focal length, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
The X100 also sports triple cameras, but misses out on the 1-inch sensor. In its place is a 1/1.49″ 50MP main camera, a 1/2″ 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 70mm focal length, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
Regardless of the models, the main cameras and telephoto cameras both have OIS, and the camera glass is coated with ZEISS T* Coating to reduce lens flares.
Other than that, the X100 and X100 Pro remain similar in many other areas. They each have a 6.78″ LTPO AMOLED display with FHD+ (2800x1260p) resolution. Refresh rates caps at 120Hz, and so does peak brightness at 3,000nits.
You’ll find stereo speakers on both, as well as support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The only other difference you’ll find is in the batteries. The X100 Pro packs a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, while the X100 packs only a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired fast charging.
