vivo extends V40 Series with V40 Lite; Priced from RM1,199 in Malaysia
After the V40 and V40 Pro that launched in August, vivo Malaysia is extending the series’ portfolio with the V40 Lite. This is meant to be the budget model in the series with a starting price of just RM1,199 for the 8GB+256GB variant. You also have the choice of a 12GB+256GB variant going for RM1,299, and a larger 12GB+512GB variant priced at RM1,499.
The vivo V40 Lite is already up for pre-orders, with early bird promos running until 25th October 2024.
During this period, orders for the V40 Lite will come with free gifts worth up to RM995, including 4 years battery warranty under vivo care+, along with a free screen protector and protective cover. Complementing this is a 1 year vivo care+ extended warranty and screen protection warranty. Moreover, buyers will also get a free pair of vivo Selection Earbuds, and a powerbank.

vivo V40 Lite specs
Since it is the affordable sibling in the series, the V40 Lite utilizes a toned down Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. Performance is helped with extended RAM capacity up to 12GB RAM, depending on the configuration.
It sports a 6.67″ AMOLED display, offering 2400×1080 resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. Under High Brightness Mode (HBM), vivo says brightness can reach up to 1,200nits.
A consistent feature throughout vivo’s V Series is the Aura Light, which is what you’ll get here too. The AI Aura Light, as vivo calls it, provides a built-in secondary light source for brightness enhancement and colour temperature adjustment.
On that note, the rear cameras consist of a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Elsewhere at the front is a 32MP selfie shooter. Adding to the photo-taking experience is a suite of new AI features, such as AI Erase and AI Photo Enhance.
Other noteworthy features on the vivo V40 Lite include the 5,000mAh battery supporting 80W wired charging; and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
The device comes in three colours: Silver, Black, and Violet.
