vivo V27 with Aura Light Portrait officially launches in Malaysia; price starts at RM1,799
vivo has added to their V series tally with the introduction of the vivo V27. This is their second V series smartphone of the year after launching the V27e earlier this month.
This year’s V series sports a distinguishable Aura Light Ring that’s new compared to the V series of yesteryears. From the rear, you’ll notice a prominent ring alongside its triple camera system, unseen on past vivo series, or any other phones for that matter.
vivo claims the Aura Light will enhance night photography performance, and is perhaps what will set vivo apart from other brands as they compete to capture the mid-range market.
The vivo V27 (8+256GB) is priced at RM1,799, while the more premium V27 (12+256GB) is available at RM1,999. You can make your purchase at all vivo concept stores, authorized dealers, or on vivo’s official online store, Shopee and Lazada.
All purchases within the 1st of April to the 1st of May will be entitled to free gifts worth RM957. This includes a 1-year extended warranty, 1-year screen protection, and an exclusive gift box.
There is also an education discount for all students and teachers from the 1st of April to the 9th of April, which will entitle you to an additional RM50 discount.
vivo’s commitment to the ‘Instagrammable’ theme spills on to the V27. If you can recall, the vivo V27e came in an aesthetic Lavender Purple that had wispy, iridescent feather-like details.
In the V27, vivo decks the exterior with a jade-inspired light Emerald Green which changes to a darker hued green under UV light. The other colour options, Flowing Glow and Noble Black, are pretty in their own ways. The 3D Light Spot Colour Gradient on the Flowing Glow in particular makes the vivo V27 shimmer in all its pastel beauty when viewed from different angles.
As seen on the vivo V27e, the vivo V27 comes with an Aura Light Portrait feature. This is essentially your own built-in ring light which you can call upon whenever you need a selfie glow up. It provides a gentle glow to night portraits, in contrast to the harsh glare of your phone flash which somehow manages to highlight every flaw imaginable – and then some – on your beautiful-as-it-is face.
The Aura Light Portrait is built with three lightbulbs that intelligently adjusts its brightness based on ambient lighting. The result is a night portrait that oozes the quality of a studio photoshoot.
Bringing your photos to life is a 50MP main camera with Sony’s flagship IMX766V sensor, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support. Flanking the main camera is an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera.
At the front, you’ll have a 50MP camera with Auto Focus. You will also be able to film in 4K/30FPS, which will give you a decent vlogging experience.
The vivo V27 is fitted with a 6.78″ Full HD+ (2400 x 1080px) AMOLED display with refresh rates up to 120Hz for seamless scrolling. What stands out though, is the 3D curved screen which grants a flagship feel to it.
The V27 will utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, and will be the first smartphone to do so. You can expect improved performance alongside optimized battery usage with this processor. Talking about batteries, you’ll be looking at a 4,600mAh battery capacity with 66W fast charging. According to vivo, this will give you 50% in just 19 minutes.
As mentioned earlier, the vivo V27 comes in two configurations, an 8GB+256GB and a 12GB+256GB version. The former is priced at RM1,799, while the latter will be sold at RM1,999.
It will be sold at all vivo concept stores, authorized dealers, and official online brand stores, and on Shopee and Lazada.
