By Timothy Teoh November 4, 2024

U Mobile has introduced the U Family 128 plan, a shared mobile plan designed for families. The plan includes 1,000GB of 4G/5G mobile data shared between up to 4 mobile lines.

According to U Mobile’s FAQ page, only one mobile line is required to sign up for the family plan, with the flexibility to activate the remaining three lines at any time, at the user’s convenience. Additional lines can be activated at any U Mobile store nationwide.

Aside from the large data sharing pool, other benefits of the U Family 128 plan include 5G hotspot, 15GB of free global roaming data in 63 destinations, free incoming calls from abroad in 63 destinations, and unlimited local calls.

To sweeten the package, subscribers are also entitled to a selection of free 5G phones, including the OPPO Reno12 F 5G, realme 13+ 5G, vivo V40 Lite 5G, and HONOR X9b 5G.

U Mobile’s U Family 128 plan is available immediately at RM128/month. For more information, visit U Mobile’s official webpage.

Maxis announces free unlimited data upgrades for postpaid plans

By Timothy Teoh October 11, 2024

Maxis users subscribed to selected postpaid plans can expect to see upgrades in their mobile data in the near future. The telco brand has announced that its Postpaid 109, 139, 169, and 199 plans will receive unlimited data as part of an ongoing limited time offer.

The unlimited data is subject to Maxis’ Fair Usage Policy (FUP).

There will also be an upgrade for the lowest-tiered Postpaid 79 plan, albeit not with an unlimited data offer. Instead, users under this plan will have their data quota boosted from 160GB to 300GB.

Here’s the rundown of the limited time offer:

Maxis says that the upgrades will commence between 9th October and 5th November 2024 for existing users. This will be done automatically, so no action is required from the user.

New sign-ups, on the other hand, can enjoy the upgrades immediately.

Again, the keyword to all this is ‘limited time.’ According to Maxis’ FAQ page, users can enjoy the upgrades until 16th January 2025. Unless extended, users can expect the mobile quota to default back to the original quota.

To learn more about the limited time offer, visit Maxis’ official website.

In case you missed it, Hotlink users too, will receive quota upgrades, but on a permanent basis. You can read more about it here.
