Tune Talk subscribers can now get Mastercard ID Theft Protection

By Raymond Saw January 9, 2026

Tune Talk has partnered with Mastercard to offer Mastercard ID Theft Protection to its subscribers in Malaysia. The service is aimed at helping users monitor and protect their personal information as cybercrime and identity fraud continue to rise.

The Mastercard ID Theft Protection service monitors users’ personal data across the surface web, deep web and dark web, and sends alerts when suspicious activity is detected. If a potential identity compromise occurs, users are provided with guided steps to help with recovery.

“Malaysians live, work, and transact in an increasingly digital world, but the pace of cyber threats has accelerated just as quickly. This collaboration with Mastercard is about delivering practical protection—not just awareness—so our subscribers can enjoy digital convenience with greater confidence and peace of mind,” – Gurtaj Singh Padda, Tune Talk co-founder and CEO

The move comes amid rising concerns over digital security in Malaysia, where reported data theft cases and online scams have increased significantly in recent years. With a large portion of Malaysians using online banking, e-commerce platforms, and social media daily, exposure of personal information has become a growing risk.

Mastercard says its global fraud and cybersecurity systems assess millions of risk events daily and are used to detect and prevent fraud at scale. Through this collaboration, the service is now accessible to Tune Talk subscribers as an optional value-added service.

Tune Talk users can subscribe to Mastercard ID Theft Protection through the Tune Talk app or via the telco’s VAS page. The sign-up, payment, and activation process is fully digital, and has been designed to be intuitive and seamless.
