Acer demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by expanding the eco-friendly Vero series not just to laptops, but to air purifiers and projectors as well.

Acerpure Pro Vero

Starting first with the Acerpure Pro Vero, this new air purifier is made of 35% Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) material, and introduces a dedicated ‘green mode’ which allows for decreased energy consumption.

Aspire Vero 15

Continuing on the Vero laptop series, Acer has added the new Aspire Vero 15, whose chassis and screen bezels is now made of 40% PCR materials. Aside from that, PCR was also incorporated onto the keycaps as well as the adapter casing.

When it comes to performance, the Acer Aspire Vero 15 is configured up to the 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, with up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM. It’s fitted with 15.6″ FHD display with a 1440 QHD Webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR). In terms of connectivity, the Aspire Vero 15 will have 2x Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, and a HDMI 2.1 port.

Vero Projector

The Vero series continues with the Acer Vero Projector. This is made of 35% PCR materials, and boasts Full HD resolution. It is also embedded with an Android TV dongle, giving you access to a host of features including voice search commands and Google Play Store.

Acer Predator

Acer will prolong the Predator legacy with three new offerings set to contend in the gaming laptop segment.

Predator Helios 3D 15

First to enter the arena is the Predator Helios 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition. This will run on an 13th Gen Intel Core i9 HX processor for premium gaming performance. Running the graphics department is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU which promises to run top-tier graphics no matter the game.

Predator Helios Neo 16

The next in the gaming laptop lineup is the Predator Helios Neo 16. This model packs 13th Gen Intel Core processors as well as GeForce RTX 40 GPU. This is a pure gaming laptop with a whole set of features designed to provide the ultimate gaming experience. One of which is Ray Tracing technology for realistic light renderings. For storage, you’ll have up to 32GB DDR5 RAM.

Predator Triton 17 X

The final new contender of the Predator gaming laptop is the Predator Triton 17 X. It boasts a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU and the 13th Gen Intel Core i9 processor claimed by Intel to be the ‘most advanced core ever’. Among its Predator allies revealed today, the Triton 17 X has the largest memory, going up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and up to 4TB PCIe SSD. It comes in at 17″ with a WQXGA AmLED panel, and an aspect ratio of 16:10.

ebii

And finally, Acer rolled back the curtains on their new AI-driven smartbike. Compact, sturdy, and relatively lightweight at 16KG, ebii provides a solution for short-distance commuting without getting frustratingly stuck in a jam.

According to Acer, anyone between 145cm to 185cm can ride the ebii comfortably. In terms of mileage, Acer claims the ebii can reach up to 110KM on a single charge. On that note, a single charge will take 2.5 hours.

It comes with a host of features, including fast charging, surround light for night riding, collision detection, and auto lock/unlock.

There has yet been any announcement about the availability of these products in Malaysia. At the time of writing, Acer Malaysia’s official Facebook has only posted about the Acer Vero lineup and their e-bike, ebii. There have been no posts about the Acer Predator line ups…yet?

We can expect more details from Acer Malaysia in the weeks to come.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra Packs Leica Quad Cameras With Option To Add on Handgrip

If you thought the Xiaomi 13 Pro was impressive, then you’ll have to find more superlatives to describe the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

Xiaomi drew back the curtains on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in their latest launch event. This comes less than two months after unveiling the Xiaomi 13 Series in late February 2023.

Xiaomi has been teasing glimpses of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra on their social channels. Finally, we get the full scope of what their latest flagship contender offers, as well as availability and pricing in China markets.

xiaomi 13 ultra price in China

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has three memory variants. The 12+256GB variant is priced at ¥5,999 (RM3,864.83); the 16GB+512GB variant at ¥6,499 (RM4186.95); and the 16GB+1TB variant at ¥7,299 (RM4702.35).

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch globally. However, no official news about a Malaysia launch and pricing in MYR has been released yet.

The first thing you’ll notice on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is how different it looks from the Xiaomi 13 Series cohort. The obvious distinctive element being the gargantuan circular camera housing at the rear. In it is the marquee feature of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Co-engineered Leica Quad Cameras.

Xiaomi applied upgrades across the board on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s cameras. The main camera utilizes a Leica 50MP 1-inch IMX989 sensor with 23mm focal length, but this time comes with a 2-stop variable aperture of f/1.9 and f/4.0.

This is flanked by a 50MP (f/1.8) telephoto camera, 50MP (f/1.8) ultra-wide, and 50MP (f/3.0) super-telephoto; all of which are backed by an IMX858 sensor. In addition to that, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra now has added versatility with six focal lengths across its quad cameras.

To further enhance your photography experience, Xiaomi announced that they will release optional add-ons including a handgrip with a shutter button, a filter adapter, and a lens cap.

Aside from cameras, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will run on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It will come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

It’s fitted with a 6.73″ OLED display with adaptive refresh rates from 1-120Hz. Peak brightness receives a major boost going as high as 2,600nits, making its display one of the brightest in the market. All this is protected under Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Elsewhere in the battery department, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery capacity supporting 90W wired fast charging. It also supports 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is IP68 water and dust resistant, has stereo speakers, and supports Bluetooth 5.3. A nice-to-have touch is the leather textured back akin to the handgrip material on cameras. For durability, Xiaomi protects the material with anti-bacterial coating and anti-degradation material.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes in three colour choices: Black, White, and Olive Green.

Once again, Xiaomi has made the 13 Ultra available only to China markets so far. We can expect further details about a global launch in the months to come.
