Two Malaysian brothers did not just play Minecraft. They transformed it into an award winning virtual classroom powered by artificial intelligence.
Education is constantly evolving, driven by young minds with bold ideas. Among them are brothers Mohammad Parsa Parhizkar and Mohammad Rohan Parhizkar, who turned a popular video game into a remarkable learning platform.
Inspired by their shared love for Minecraft, the duo created Minedu AI, a plug-in for Minecraft Java Edition that uses artificial intelligence to power learning. Their invention transforms the game into a digital classroom where primary school students can explore science and biology through interactive questioning.
Let us explore how these young brothers brought their vision to life and why it is inspiring others to think beyond the screen.

Turning a Game into a Classroom
While most children use Minecraft to build or explore, Parsa and Rohan imagined something more. What if the game could become a learning tool? That idea led to Minedu AI, where students ask questions such as “What is photosynthesis?” and receive simple, accurate answers inside the game.
The platform supports English, Malay and Mandarin, making it accessible to a wider range of learners. It also includes quizzes to help users test their knowledge, along with review features to assess understanding. If students type questions about serious personal issues, the system gently redirects them towards help.
Recognition on the World Stage
Their innovation won them a gold medal and the Best Young Inventor Excellence Award in the primary school category at the World Young Inventors Exhibition. The event was held in May at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, as part of the International Invention, Innovation, Technology Competition and Exhibition 2025.
“I felt really happy when we won,” said Parsa, who is twelve. His younger brother Rohan, who turns ten in September, said, “We were so excited. We jumped and celebrated a lot.”
Powered by Curiosity and Determination
Creating Minedu AI was not easy. The brothers spent two months learning how to code through online tutorials and a private teacher. Along the way, they faced setbacks and had to repeatedly fix errors.

“I literally jumped out of my seat when it finally worked,” Parsa recalled. Their mother, Zahra Mohana Gebril, said she was proud of their perseverance. Their father, Behrang Parhizkar, believes their mental strength comes from sports training. Both boys compete in Brazilian jiu jitsu and wrestling, with medals earned both locally and abroad.
At a recent tournament in the Philippines, Rohan took home gold while Parsa earned silver.

Support from Google and Plans Ahead
Google Malaysia took notice of their work and offered the boys a complimentary Gemini API licence along with technical support. With help from their parents, they have now started a company called Minedu AI Enterprise.
Each Saturday, they run workshops at their school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint Lapan (Satu), where they teach classmates how to learn through Minecraft.
Looking ahead, they hope to add more subjects to Minedu AI and develop a similar platform using Roblox.
