The new HUAWEI MateBook X Pro (2024) is lighter than the MacBook Air
In its latest launch, HUAWEI has finally released the MateBook X Pro (2024) here in Malaysia. HUAWEI’s newest laptop offering is marketed as an ultraportable and ultralight option that weighs only 980g, which to that effect is comparable to the 13″ MacBook Air which stands at 1.25kg.
HUAWEI credits this to the Magnesium Alloy Body, which they claim is able to reduce the weight of the MateBook X Pro by 18%.
The HUAWEI MateBook X Pro comes in two variants differing in processors and memory configuration. The first comes with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155H paired with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage; while the second offering runs on the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 185H with 32GB RAM and 2TB storage to boot.
Regardless of the variant you choose, you’ll be getting a 14.2″ OLED display packing 3K (3120×2080) resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. Helping with visuals is its 100% sRGB coverage, and an average △E<1 colour accuracy. It is also touchsreen.
As for I/O ports, the MateBook X Pro has 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports located on the left side, and a single USB-C port on the right.
Other noteworthy mentions is its 70Wh battery supporting 90W charging, a 1080P HD camera for video conferencing, 4 microphones, and a 6 speaker setup.
The HUAWEI MateBook X Pro (2024) is already available for pre-orders, with the pre-order period lasting from 14th May to 24th May 2024. The official pricing of each variant is as listed below:
- Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 155H, 16GB+1TB – RM8,999
- Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 185H, 32GB+2TB – RM10,999
To sweeten the deal, purchases within the pre-order period will come with free gifts worth up to RM4,582, which includes a HUAWEI MatePad 11″ PaperMatte Edition, a HUAWEI MatePad Smart Keyboard, a HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd Gen), and a HUAWEI Bluetooth Mouse, among more goodies.
