TECNO Phantom V Fold Finally Launched in Malaysia With RM5,399 Retail Price Tag
TECNO becomes the latest brand to throw in a foldable phone offering into the ever-growing mix with the TECNO Phantom V Fold. This is also the first ever foldable phone the brand has introduced.
TECNO has been promoting the PHANTOM V Fold across its social media for months now, but never with an official release date in Malaysia. The wait ends today with TECNO finally announcing its availability in Malaysia.
The TECNO Phantom V Fold will retail at RM5,399, making it the most affordable foldable smartphone in Malaysia.
Pre-orders are ongoing until the 9th of May at a discounted price of RM4,999. To sweeten the deal, TECNO will also throw in a free Smart Foldable Electric Scooter worth RM 899 for pre-orders.

TECNO Phantom V Fold Specs
Even as a newcomer in the foldable phone segment, TECNO attempts to tackle the bigger names in the scene, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and the HONOR Magic Vs.
For starters, it comes with a luxuriously leathered rear panel with two colour choices to choose from, Black or White. The TECNO Phantom V Fold is a flagship device by all means, utilizing the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ with 5G support.
For memory, you’ll have 12GB LPDDR5X RAM to go with either 256GB or 512GB of UFS3.1 storage.
TECNO has followed the recipe in terms of screen layout, utilizing an external outer screen when folded and a larger internal screen when unfolded. Its external screen measures up to 6.42″ with Full HD+ resolution. When unfolded, reveals a 7.85″ internal main screen with 2K+ resolution. Both sub screen and main screen boasts 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rates and 1100nit peak brightness.
You’ll have an arsenal of cameras to utilize, with three cameras at the rear and two in the front. At the rear, you’ll have a 50MP main camera with 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 50MP portrait camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide. At the front, you’ll have a 32MP camera located on the sub screen, and another 16MP selfie camera on the main screen.
The TECNO Phantom V Fold is kept running by a 5,000mAh large battery with 45W SuperCharge. According to TECNO, you can expect a fully charged phone within 55 minutes.
Other than that, you’ll also get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and dual stereo speakers. If you’re worried about the crease, TECNO claims that the crease on the Phantom V Fold is less than 0.11mm. Whether that measurement is a deal breaker is a personal choice.
With that being said, the Phantom V Fold does have high durability, with it able to put in 200,000 folds.
