Suunto Vertical 2 Nearing Malaysia Release, Prices Go Live on Website
The Suunto Vertical 2 adventure smartwatch has yet to have its official launch in Malaysia, but it looks like its availability is imminent. The product page is already up and running, with the official prices also listed. However, as of the time of writing, the watch is still listed as ‘Out of stock’.
According to the official product page, the Vertical 2 will come in two bezel varieties: stainless steel and titanium. Of the two, the former is the heavier variant at 87g, while titanium is lighter at 74g. Both options will feature Sapphire Crystal glass for toughness, along with a glass fibre-reinforced polyamide case.
Serving as the successor to the Vertical, this year’s iteration features a redesigned flat back panel, which Suunto explains will create better contact for upgraded OHR (optical heart rate) monitoring. It also has improved blood oxygen readings, heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, and sleep tracking.
True to its adventure theme, the Vertical 2 has a built-in LED flashlight for night hikes. On that note, the watch features over 115 sport modes, including trail running, mountain biking, swimming, mountaineering, and even backcountry skiing. Some of these modes will feature heatmaps from other users to help you find the most popular routes. Additionally, Climb Guidance helps hikers plan for elevation, gradient, and surface changes on trails.
As for battery life, the Vertical 2 offers an impressive up-to-65-hour battery life, even in Performance mode with the most accurate GPS mode running. Off the trails, you can expect up to 20 days of daily use with heart rate tracking and raise-to-wake enabled.
While it isn’t a specialized diving computer, the watch can withstand 100m water resistance, making it suitable for wet activities.
The Suunto Vertical 2’s stainless steel options include All Black, Arctic Gray, Canyon, and Pine Green – all priced at RM2,999. For a stronger build, the titanium options in Black and Sage are priced at RM3,499.
