Super Bowl LV Half-Time Show and Commercials

February 8, 2021

Whether or not you are an American Football fan, the Super Bowl half-time show is a must-watch for everyone. This year’s performance is by The Weeknd and in our opinion, it was spectacular!

Our favourite part is around the 10:20 mark where The Weeknd exited to the main field. He was accompanied by a group of dancers while singing a popular hit – House Of Balloons / Glass Table Girls

Perhaps largely due to the ongoing pandemic, there is something spectacular about seeing coordinated dance moves pulled off by a bigger group. At least for us, it invoked a sense of hope and excitement.

If you’ve yet to watch the full performance, you can watch it here:

The performance was received with both love and criticism. Many felt that last year’s performance by Shakira and J. LO was a lot better. Personally, we think both were great in their own unique ways. Given the unique circumstances this year, we think that The Weeknd did not disappoint.

Super Bowl LV Commercials

With commercials estimated to be US$5.5 per 30-second slot, you better make sure your commercial leaves a lasting impression with the audience.

With that being said, the commercials surrounding the Super Bowl are amongst the most entertaining advertisements you’ll encounter throughout the year.

On the note of disappointments, we felt that the commercials this year were a tad bit stale with non of the commercials really leaving a lasting impression.
