Spotify SongDNA: Find out the samples and creatives behind your favourite song

By Raymond Saw March 25, 2026

Ever wondered who actually helped shape your favourite track beyond the main artist? Spotify is now making that easier to uncover with a brand-new feature called SongDNA. Rolling out globally to Premium users, SongDNA is designed to reveal the complete group of collaborators, influences and creatives that go into making a song.

SongDNA is built into the Now Playing screen and lets users explore their favourite track even more. By tapping the SongDNA card, you can view songwriters, producers, collaborators, as well as related samples, interpolations and covers. From there, you can jump between connected artists and works to discover more music.

To access SongDNA, just play a song on the Spotify mobile app and open the Now Playing view. On supported tracks, you’ll find a SongDNA card further down the screen. Tap it, and you’ll be able to see more about the song. This complements existing features like ‘About the Song’ by focusing more on connections and discovery rather than just background context.

“SongDNA is designed to make a song’s creative lineage more transparent so fans can easily explore the people and influences behind the music they love.

By bringing collaborators, samples, and covers together in one place, we’re making it easier for fans to discover new music and see how songs connect and come to life—while giving songwriters, producers, and rightsholders meaningful recognition for the role they play in creating it,” -Jacqueline Ankner, Head of Songwriter & Publisher Partnerships at Spotify

The feature also aims to give more visibility to behind-the-scenes contributors like producers, composers, and engineers. The data comes from artists, their teams and community sources, with artists and labels able to manage how information appears via Spotify for Artists. SongDNA currently rolling out in beta and is expected to be available to all Spotify Premium users in the coming weeks.
