Spotify increases price of several premium plans in Malaysia; Will take effect from September

Just when we thought we were the lucky ones, it seems Spotify has decided to raise the prices of premium plans in Malaysia after all.

Spotify users were aware of a price hike which took place in several regions, though the list at that time did not include Malaysia.

However, there seems to be a change of mind, and Malaysians too will soon need to fork out more.

As displayed on Spotify Malaysia’s official website, the new prices for the premium plan subscriptions are:

• Individual: RM15.90 (up RM1 from RM14.90)
• Duo: RM21.50 (up RM1.70 from RM19.80)
• Family: RM24.90 (up RM1.10 from RM23.80)
• Student: RM8.50 (up RM1 from RM7.50)

Of the available Spotify premium packages, only the Mini plan has not been affected, remaining at RM0.75/day.

The new price adjustments are effective for new users starting today. Existing users on the other hand can expect the new billing to take effect from September onwards.
