Xperia 10 VII Launches with On-Device Google AI and Hardware Shutter Key for Fast Capture
Sony is back with the new Xperia 10 VII, a refreshed take on its 10 series that brings small but meaningful upgrades all around. The design has been polished up, the display is wider and smoother, and there’s now a dedicated camera shutter button on the side so you can snap photos quickly, even with the screen locked.
Camera-wise, Sony has fitted bigger sensors this time around, especially for the 24mm wide lens, which is now 1.6 times larger than before. This should help you get clearer photos, especially in low-light settings. The two rear cameras support three focal lengths: 16mm ultra-wide, 24mm wide, and 48mm zoom, giving you some flexibility when shooting.
Inside, it runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip for smoother performance, and the 5,000mAh battery promises up to two days of use. There’s also adaptive charging to help keep the battery healthy even after four years. Sony is also committing to six years of security updates and four Android version upgrades.
The display now has a taller 19.5:9 aspect ratio and supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and videos look smoother. Front-facing speakers have been improved and Bluetooth connection is more stable, which is handy if you’re always on the go with wireless earbuds.
Xperia 10 VII Malaysia also supports Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini AI assistant, letting you search or get help without leaving your current app. On the outside, it weighs just 168g, uses tough Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the matte back finish feels more refined.
Eco-conscious users will also be glad to know the phone uses recycled materials and comes in plastic-free packaging.
Price and Availability in Malaysia
The Xperia 10 VII is now available in Malaysia for RM2,199 and comes in White, Turquoise, and Charcoal Black. You can get it from Sony Stores, Sony Centres, or online via the official Sony website. A matching protective case (sold separately) is also available.
