Sony launches Xperia 5 V in Malaysia; Priced at RM4,999
Sony has officially launched the Xperia 5 V in Malaysia, marking the brand’s third release of the year after the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V.
The Sony Xperia 5 V retails at RM4,999 in Malaysia and is available immediately on Sony’s official website. As part of the early bird promotion, purchases from now until the 31st of December will come with exclusive freebies including a WF-1000XM5 headphones worth RM1,399, a clear casing, a tempered glass screen protector, as well as RM50 Touch ‘n Go eWallet rebate.
Zoning in onto design, the Xperia 5 V sports a similar look to its Xperia cousins, maintaining the flat and slim form factor with a vertical camera lineup.
Its display is a 6.1″ OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rates, it also keeps to the narrow 21:9 aspect ratio iconic to the Xperia series. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The Xperia 5 V utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and comes in a singular 8GB+256GB configuration.
At the rear are dual cameras consisting of a 48MP main camera backed by Sony’s 1/1.35″ Exmor T sensor, which by the way, is the same sensor on the flagship Xperia 1 V. You’ll be able to record in 4K HDR at 120fps with this camera. Alongside it is a 12MP ultra-wide lens with 16mm focal length.
At the front, on the other hand, is a 12MP front camera.
For audio, you’ll have front-stage stereo speakers as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. You’ll be relying on a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired charging, although it does also support Qi wireless charging.
The Xperia 5 V initially launched with three colours, but will only be available in Sophisticated Black in Malaysia.
