Sony A7 V Teaser Has Surfaced Online: Could This Be The New Full Frame Mirrorless King?

If you’re in the market for a new mirrorless camera, it might be worth waiting as the Sony A7 V full frame mirrorless camera might just be on its way to launch very soon.
Sony A7 V Teaser
Sony has shared a picture on their official Sony Alpha and Sony Electronics Instagram account, teasing the arrival of the highly anticipated Sony A7 V full frame mirrorless camera. The picture contains text which says “Chase your dream“, along with a date set for 2nd December 2025 at 9AM EST (10PM GMT +8 / Malaysia time).
Of course, there’s always a chance it could be a different model altogether, like a more compact “C” variant but with a giant “V” as the background of the picture, it’s hard to think it would be anything other than the Sony A7 V camera. The current model, A7 IV, was launched roughly 4 years after the A7 III, putting a succeeding model at a rough 2026 timeline if we’re going by the same pattern, which would almost match up with the listed date.
Rumored Features
Sony is currently testing the following lenses:
— how2fly (@camerainsider) October 27, 2025
1. 100-400mm F4 GM
2. 100-400mm G(variable aperture, light weight)
3. An F2 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens
From what we know thus far, the Sony A7 V has a new 33MP partially stacked sensor that was designed by Sony. This is interesting as a partially stacked sensor is a hybrid design where the light-capturing pixel layer is separated from the processing circuitry to some degree. It will have the ability to capture videos up to 4K 60 FPS, and we’re expecting to see at least two new lenses to go along with the new camera if the recent leaks on X are to be trusted. The potential lenses are an extremely fast f/2.0 ultrawide zoom lens and two other telephoto lenses with insane focal lengths.
The Sony A7 IV was first launched at $2,500 / RM8,679 so we can expect the new Sony A7 V to not go below this price floor. In fact, we anticipate it to be slightly higher given the new features but for now, we’ll just have to wait and see for official details as the launch is just around the corner. Stay tuned for further updates.
