Selling on Shopee? A New RM0.50 ‘Platform Support Fee’ Is Coming in July

Shopee Malaysia has announced that it will implement a new RM0.50 Platform Support Fee on sellers beginning 16 July 2025. The fee is subjected to 8% SST and will be deducted from each successfully delivered order before the sales proceeds are credited into the seller’s Shopee account.
This new charge will not apply to all sellers immediately. Instead, it will only affect those who have listed their first product for more than 120 days, or who have successfully completed 100 orders—whichever milestone is reached first. Sellers below this threshold will not be charged the fee.
Shopee has stated that the RM0.50 fee is intended to support the platform’s continued development. According to the company, it is a “service charge introduced to support the continuous development, provision, maintenance, upgrade, and enhancement of the Shopee platform to ensure a seamless user experience.”
The e-commerce platform added that the fee will help fund upcoming features and improvements, including the new Shopee Seller Centre app, AI-generated content tools, a Shop AI Assistant, and other features designed to streamline seller operations and improve customer engagement.
