Selangor government offering RM300 aid through BINGKAS programme
In case you missed it, the Selangor government announced in early July that RM300 aid will be distributed to eligible households in Selangor. The aid is part of the state government’s Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (BINGKAS) programme and is believed to help 30,000 families in the state.
Those eligible will receive RM300 in e-wallet credits each month for the next 24 months. The credits, however, will only be sent to the SELANGKAH e-wallet, which means citizens will need to download the SELANGKAH app to apply for BINGKAS and utilize the credits.
SELANGKAH is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
According to the BINGKAS official page, the RM300 can only be used on essential household items and educational tools at panel stores approved by BINGKAS.
The RM300 credits cannot be accumulated, and any remaining balance by the end of the month will be forfeited; after which a new cycle of RM300 aid will be credited to your account.
BINGKAS is eligible to those who meet the following criteria:
- Malaysian citizens
- Born in Selangor, or have resided in Selangor for at least 10 years
- Voting constituency registered in Selangor
- Households earning below RM5,000 per month
- Have at least two dependents below 18 years of age
Applications for BINGKAS is currently running, and will continue to do so until 15 August 2024. You will find the application form in the SELANGKAH app, under the ‘State Programs’ section on the homepage.
