Samsung Odyssey 3D: World’s first glasses-free 6K 3D gaming monitor

By Raymond Saw December 29, 2025

Samsung has announced their latest Odyssey gaming monitor lineup for 2026, featuring plenty of world-first technologies. Spearheading this new lineup is their new 6K resolution 3D Odyssey G9, along with the Odyssey G6 pushing an insane 1,040Hz refresh rate and three new Odyssey G8 monitors.

Starting off with the new 32-inch Samsung Odyssey 3D (G90XH), the Korean giant says that it’s been designed to offer a new way of experiencing games, the monitor delivers depth and immersion without requiring a headset or special eyewear.

The Odyssey 3D uses real-time eye tracking technology to dynamically adjust depth and perspective based on the viewer’s position. This creates a layered 3D effect that they claim is natural and uninterrupted, allowing gamers to enjoy stereoscopic visuals directly from the monitor.

In terms of performance, the monitor features an IPS panel pushing a 6K resolution with a 1ms grey-to-grey response time along with a 165Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted up to 330Hz via Dual Mode which cuts the resolution to 3K. As for what you can play on it, Samsung says you can play featured titles such as The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: Overture, and Stellar Blade which have been optimized to take advantage of the 3D display beyond what standard 2D gameplay can offer.

Next up we have the 27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H). This one is aimed more at competitive gamers, thanks to its world-first 1,040Hz refresh rate. It should be noted though that’s with Dual Mode lowering the resolution to HD; at standard mode it runs at 1440p with a native 600Hz refresh rate. The monitor also supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, helping to reduce screen tearing and stuttering.

Lastly we have the Odyssey G8 series with three different models catering to different needs. At the top of the lineup is the 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS), featuring a 6K IPS panel with a native 165Hz refresh rate and Dual Mode support that goes up to 330Hz in 3K mode. The 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF) meanwhile offers a 5K IPS display with a native refresh rate of up to 180Hz, with Dual Mode enabling up to 360Hz at QHD for smoother motion.

For OLED fans, the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) features a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. It includes Glare Free viewing and 300 nits of brightness too, on top of VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. All three models also support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible for stable, tear-free performance.

“With this year’s Odyssey lineup, we’re introducing display experiences that simply weren’t possible even a year ago. From the industry’s first 6K glasses-free 3D monitor to breakthrough 1,040Hz speed, we designed these monitors to meet the ambitions of today’s gamers and deliver a level of immersion that fundamentally changes how content looks and functions on screen,” -Hun Lee, Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business

There’s no word just yet on pricing and availability, but Samsung will be showcasing the full Odyssey lineup at CES 2026. You can expect more details on when they’ll be available on shelves then. In the meantime, do stay tuned for more about these new monitors.
