Samsung launches conversational Bixby in One UI 8.5 for smarter Galaxy control

By PriceShop News February 24, 2026

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the beta program for the latest version of Bixby, redesigned to act as a conversational device agent in One UI 8.5. The update allows Galaxy users to interact with their devices using natural language, reducing the time and effort needed to manage settings and features

“Since we introduced our first AI phone in 2024, we’ve been committed to making them easier to use so more people can benefit from AI — that’s why we decided to integrate a device agent directly into the experience.

Bixby now enables more natural interactions and intuitive device control, reducing friction in everyday tasks.” – Won-Joon Choi, Chief Operating Officer, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics

With the update, users no longer need to navigate complex menus or remember specific setting names. For example, simply saying, “I don’t want the screen to time out while I’m still looking at it,” prompts Bixby to turn on the appropriate setting automatically. It can also provide context-based solutions, such as suggesting Accidental Touch Protection when a phone stays on in a pocket.

Beyond device management, Bixby now offers real-time web search capabilities, delivering up-to-date information directly within its interface. Users can ask questions like, “Find me hotels in Seoul that have swimming pools for kids,” and receive results without leaving the app, creating a seamless experience.

The latest Bixby is available in selected markets, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S., with broader availability expected later.
