Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Z Flip 7 FE: Samsung’s New Foldables Compared Side by Side
Samsung has unveiled its latest foldable phones — the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Both offer a compact clamshell design, vibrant displays, and powerful internals. While they look similar, there are key differences in hardware, size, and price that may influence your buying decision.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is powered by Samsung’s next-gen Exynos 2500 chip, offering improved performance and better efficiency. In comparison, the Flip 7 FE runs on the Exynos 2400, which is still capable but not quite as powerful. Memory and storage also differ — the Flip 7 comes with 12GB of RAM and options for 256GB or 512GB of storage, while the Flip 7 FE is equipped with 8GB RAM, with 128GB or 256GB storage options.
Both phones use a Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but the Flip 7 has a slightly larger 6.9-inch screen, compared to 6.7 inches on the FE. Where things differ more noticeably is the cover display. The Flip 7 offers a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, making it more fluid for quick interactions. The Flip 7 FE, however, has a 3.4-inch cover screen with only 60Hz, making it more basic in comparison.
Camera-wise, both models are evenly matched. They share the same 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide dual rear camera setup, along with a 10MP front camera for selfies. Battery capacity is slightly in favor of the Flip 7, which packs a 4,300mAh battery, while the FE offers a 4,000mAh unit. Charging speeds are identical, with both supporting 25W wired charging and wireless charging.
In terms of size and build, the Flip 7 is slimmer and more refined, measuring 13.7mm when folded and 6.5mm when unfolded, compared to the Flip 7 FE’s 14.9mm folded and 6.9mm unfolded profile. Despite the size difference, both phones weigh almost the same — 188g for the Flip 7 and 187g for the FE — and share the same IP48 rating, giving them protection against dust and water exposure.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is available in Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and an online-exclusive Mint colour, with prices starting at RM4,999 for the 256GB model and RM5,599 for the 512GB variant. The Flip 7 FE comes in Black and White, with pricing set at RM3,999 for the 128GB version and RM4,299 for the 256GB model.
