Alongside the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, Samsung has also revealed their new flagship smartphone at their Galaxy Unpacked event, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Just like its stablemates, it comes with a noticeably higher price tag than before, but does have a couple new features going for it.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Malaysia pricing and availabilty

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with two storage variants:

  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage – RM6,799
  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage – RM7,999

There won’t be a 256GB model for now it seems, which does push the starting price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra up by quite a bit; last year’s S25 Ultra started at RM5,999. That being said, pre-orders for the 512GB model will come with a ‘double storage’ upgrade, with the 512GB model priced at RM5,999, which seems to imply that the 256GB Galaxy S26 Ultra, currently listed as coming soon, will be priced as such. The 1TB model meanwhile can be yours for RM7,199 during the pre-order period.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra specs

The Galaxy S26 Ultra this year gets much more rounded off edges for its aluminum build, with the chassis housing a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, capable of up to 2600nits of peak brightness and an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. There’s also a layer of Corning Gorilla Armor 2 over it for scratch resistance, as well as a new Privacy Display feature that keeps the screen bright for the user while limiting visibility for those around you.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra comes with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy system-on-chip, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, with a redesigned vapor chamber to keep it all cool. It comes with Android 16 out of the box, skinned with OneUI 8.5 over it, and as usual Samsung leads the way in software support with up to seven years of upgrades.

There will be plenty of AI features too, with enhanced Nightography Video, Photo Assist, Creative Studio and Document Scan making full use of its cameras, on top of productivity and user-focused AI tools like Now Nudge, Now Brief, Circle to Search, an upgraded Bixby, and improvements to Samsung Knox such as Private Album and Personal Data Engine.

As for its cameras, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a mostly similar camera layout as its predecessor, with a main 200MP, f/1.4 camera flanked by a 50MP, f/1.9 ultrawide, a 50MP, f/2.9 telephoto offering 5x optical zoom, a 10MP, f/2.4 telephoto offering 3x optical zoom and a 12MP, f/2.2 front camera for your selfies.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery, which is disappointingly the same as last year’s model. However, it does now support faster 60W wired charging and faster 25W wireless charging, on top of 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Other features of note include an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
