Samsung releases Galaxy S24 FE in Malaysia with RM3,299 starting price
Samsung Malaysia has expanded their Galaxy S24 Series line-up with the Galaxy S24 FE. This comes eight months after the initial launch of the Galaxy S24 flagship models.
Samsung’s FE offering strives to strike the balance between flagship features and affordability. As such, it is a good deal cheaper than the base Galaxy S24 which launched with a RM4,099 starting price back in January.
Nevertheless, though the Galaxy S24 FE is cheaper, it is still a little on the heavy side with a RM3,299 starting price. This is an increase from last year’s Galaxy S23 FE which launched at RM2,999.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy S24 FE is powered by the Exynos 2400e, a dulled version of the Exynos 2400 chipset running the flagship Galaxy S24 and S24+.
You’ll get a triple camera setup consisting of the 50MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide. Of the three, only the main camera and telephoto lens support OIS. Elsewhere at the front is a 10MP selfie shooter.
In terms of sizing, the S24 FE resembles more the S24+ model with a 6.7″ AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate. Although, unlike the S24+ which packs QHD+ resolution, the S24 FE only offers Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution.
Keeping the S24 FE running is a 4,700mAh battery. This is significantly larger than the S24’s 4,000mAh battery, and just a tad bit lesser than the S24+’s 4,900mAh.
Like the S24 Series, you’ll get the full suite of Galaxy AI features on the S24 FE. These includes AI-powered photo and video editing features such as Generative Edit and Instant Slow-mo. Apart from that, there’s also Circle to Search, Interpreter, Live Translate, and Note Assist, to name a few.
Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy S24 FE will receive seven years of Android OS updates and seven years of security updates.
Available in Blue, Graphite, Gray, and Mint colours, the Galaxy S24 FE is priced at RM3,299 for the 256GB model, and RM3,899 for the 512GB model. Pre-orders are already open at Samsung Malaysia’s official website.
