Samsung Galaxy Ring finally arrives in Malaysia after almost a year

If you’ve been keeping an eye out for the Galaxy Ring which launched globally last year, the wait ends here. Samsung Malaysia has officially announced that the health-tracking ring will be available nationwide from 9 April 2025.

For the uninformed, Samsung debuted the Galaxy Ring on the global stage in July last year as the brand’s latest health tracking wearable. It was marketed as a less intrusive way of tracking health metrics compared to the conventional smart watch, particularly for sleep.

The Galaxy Ring features a titanium frame in a concave form factor. Built into the ring are three main sensors responsible for monitoring heart rate, skin temperature, and movements such as walking and running. All of these are synced to the Samsung Health app, where wearers can access and analyze an overview of their metrics, along with sleep insights and an Energy Score.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Ring can last up to 7 days on a single charge. On that note, the ring comes with a transparent clamshell charging case that resembles a jewellery box.

Samsung Galaxy Ring price in Malaysia

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is officially priced at RM2,099 in Malaysia. The ring comes in three colour options: Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold.

Additionally, Samsung is collaborating with Sunway Medical Centre to offers discounted health screening packages. In detail, the first 100 purchase of selected screening packages from Sunway Medical Centre will enjoy not just a 50% discount, but a free Galaxy Ring OR Galaxy Fit3 to go with it.

    Acer Malaysia launches Swift 16 AI and Swift Lite 14 laptops; Price starts from RM3,799

    Acer Malaysia has two new additions to its thin and light series laptops, namely the Acer Swift 16 AI and Acer Swift Lite 14. Largely catered to on-the-go users, the laptops features Intel processors that puts it in good stead for performance.

    Specifically, the Acer Swift 16 AI runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) processor capable of more than 120 TOPs. The chassis is built with aluminium for added durability, with a decent 16″ WQXGA+ OLED display for visuals. Acer claims the laptop will last up to 20 hours of usage.

    Keeping true to its ‘AI’ suffix, you’ll have a suite of AI features to boot, particularly to ease video conferencing experience. These include PurifiedVoice to reduce background noise, and PurifiedView to enhance visuals and add background blur. The laptop also has User Sensing 2.0 that auto locks the laptop when the user steps away.

    The Acer Swift 16 AI is available immediately at RM5,699, and can be purchased on Acer’s official eStore, as well as on the brand’s official Shopee and Lazada platforms. Alternatively the laptop is also available at authorized Acer resellers nationwide.

    As part of an early bird promo, customers who purchase before 23 April will receive a 256GB SanDisk DualDrive worth RM199.

    Moving on to the Acer Swift Lite 14, this is the lighter variant with a weight of just 999g. Additionally, it also features a 180-degree hinge that allows it to lay flat on a surface for added versatility. For processors, users will have the choice of either the Intel Core Ultra 7 or Core Ultra 5.

    However, the Swift Lite 14 will only be available from mid-April 2025 with a RM3,799 starting price, after which it will be purchasable at the same channels as the Swift 16 AI. Customers who purchase the laptop before 30 April will receive an Acer Wireless Bubble Mouse worth RM79.

    On top of the existing early bird promos, Acer is offering Touch n’ Go eWallet credits as part of its ongoing Greatest Rewards Campaign. The Acer Swift 16 AI and Swift Lite 14 will entitle customers to RM100 and RM80 credits respectively.
