Just a few days after surfacing on the Samsung Malaysia website, the Korean giant has now officially launched the Samsung Galaxy A07 5G. This entry-level smartphone offers plenty of nice-to-have features, as on top of the 5G network support you’ll also find a large display and six years of OS upgrades.

Samsung Galaxy A07 5G Malaysia pricing and availability

The new Samsung Galaxy A07 5G is now available for purchase in Malaysia, with two variants on offer:

  • Samsung Galaxy A07 5G, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage – RM699
  • Samsung Galaxy A07 5G, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM949

As part of the launch, Samsung Malaysia is giving the 256GB model a RM250 rebate; you’re basically getting a free storage upgrade to 256GB for the price of the 128GB base model. This promotion will last till 28 February across the Samsung Online store, their Samsung Experience stores, authorised retailers and participating eCommerce platforms.

On top of that, anyone who gets the Galaxy A07 5G will be eligible for a purchase-with-purchase deal too. You’ll be able to get the Samsung Buds Core earbuds at RM179.10, down from RM199, or the Samsung Fit3 fitness tracker at RM269.10, down from RM299.

Samsung Galaxy A07 5G specs

Unlike the similarly-named Galaxy A07 LTE, the Galaxy A07 5G’s biggest upgrade comes under the hood as it comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 system-on-chip. This not only adds 5G network support but also a slight performance bump. It gets mated to up to 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, along with support for up to 2TB of external storage via a microSD card.

Furthermore, Samsung is guaranteeing at least six years of major Android OS upgrades on the Galaxy A07 5G. As such, while it comes with Android 16 skinned with One UI 8 over it out of the box, you would be able to get up to One UI 12 in the coming years. That’s fairly impressive considering its relatively low price point.

You’ll also find a large 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a HD+ resolution, up to 800nits of brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is another nice upgrade over the 90Hz panel that the Galaxy A07 LTE and Galaxy A06 5G get. That’s on top of an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, as well as a large 6,000mAh battery. There’s also a main 50MP camera with an auxiliary depth sensor as well as an 8MP front camera.

Other features of note include some AI functionality too, with easy access to Gemini via the side keys while Circle to Search lets you quickly look up for more information about whatever’s on your screen.
