Samsung Reportedly Scraps Galaxy Edge Lineup After Poor S25 Edge Sales

By Timothy Teoh October 17, 2025

The Galaxy Edge lineage will apparently be short-lived, as reports coming out of Korea claim that Samsung has ended all plans to launch a Galaxy S26 Edge. According to the Korean news outlet NewsPim, the S25 Edge experienced lackluster sales, so much so that Samsung has decided to scrap the project entirely – at least for the time being.

The Galaxy S25 Edge was meant to go blow-for-blow with the Apple iPhone Air in the ultraslim segment. Unfortunately, it seems that this move came at a costly price for both consumers – who had to fork out at least USD 1,099 for the starting variant – and Samsung, which now has to bear the shame of releasing a subpar product.

Although the S25 Edge was Samsung’s slimmest-ever phone, it compromised on crucial aspects. Namely, a small battery, weaker cameras, and overheating issues – all bundled together at a premium price point – evidently didn’t sit well with consumers.

Samsung’s initial plan was to replace the Plus model with the Edge, with next year’s lineup supposedly comprising the Galaxy S26/S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. Now, it seems Samsung has reverted back to the tried-and-tested Plus model to rejoin the lineup.

According to NewsPim, as of August, Samsung successfully sold 8.28 million units of the S25, 5.05 million units of the S25 Plus, and 12.18 million units of the S25 Ultra. As for the S25 Edge, only 1.31 million units have been sold so far. Despite being on the market for a shorter period, it didn’t reach the heights that Samsung was expecting.

This hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung, of course, but leaksters, notably @IceUniverse and @OnLeaks, have both corroborated this stance.
