Newly Previewed Ryt Bank Features an AI Chatbot You Can Command to Handle Your Banking Tasks

By Timothy Teoh August 13, 2025

Malaysia is set to welcome its first-ever AI-powered digital bank, Ryt Bank. The digital bank was previewed during the ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025 and is developed by YTL Digital Capital Sdn Bhd, with Sea Limited as a key shareholder.

Ryt Bank will feature a range of AI capabilities that will be the first of their kind in the country. One of the key highlights is Ryt AI, an intelligent built-in chatbot assistant powered by ILMU, a localized large language model (LLM) launched by YTL AI Labs and unveiled at the same event.

Think of Ryt AI as a ChatGPT-like chatbot that you can command to carry out banking tasks, such as transferring money to a particular bank account. You prompt it just as you would any ordinary chatbot, with the example sentence on the website being, “Can you help me pay RM50 to @Amelia?”

If this still isn’t convenient enough for you, you can even take a photo or upload a screenshot or file with the payment details. Ryt AI will read what you’ve uploaded and automatically fill in the details to make the transfer process easier.

If you’re concerned about security, Ryt Bank ensures that every action performed on Ryt AI is securely encrypted and protected, offering a reliable layer of security.

Ryt Bank is still in its beta phase and has yet to launch publicly in Malaysia. The exact date of its public rollout has not been confirmed, but it is expected to occur before the end of 2025. A waitlist is available for users interested in being the first to experience Ryt Bank.

The Ryt Bank app is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
