PSA: RM100 SARA Aid Is Automatic – No Application Necessary, JAPEN Says

Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia (JAPEN) has confirmed that there is no need to apply for the RM100 cash aid under the SARA program. The one-off cash giveaway – announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim last week – will be disbursed automatically into citizens’ MyKad from 31 August onwards, with no application required.
An official graphic released by JAPEN and published on the department’s official platforms quotes the Deputy Secretary General of Treasury, Dato’ Zamzuri Abdul Aziz: “The SARA RM100 aid, given once on 31st August 2025, does not need to be applied for, as it will be credited directly into the identity card.”

Moreover, the SARA aid will not be linked to any e-wallet services and will not even utilize the built-in Touch ‘n Go function on your MyKad. Therefore, there is no need to register or update your e-wallet details to receive the aid.
It’s also worth mentioning that scam links claiming to be related to the SARA aid have been on the rise. These fraudulent links, circulated by scammers, are designed to trick victims into submitting personal details under the pretense that they need to apply for the aid. If you receive such messages, it is advised that you delete them immediately.
