REDMAGIC kicks off the new year with the launch of the REDMAGIC 9 Pro. The flagship gaming device marks the first smartphone launch of 2024 and, apart from the IQOO 12 and nubia Z60 Ultra, is currently one of the few devices in Malaysia that utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The official pricing for the REDMAGIC 9 Pro in Malaysia are as listed below:

  • REDMAGIC 9 Pro (12GB+256GB) – RM3,699
  • REDMAGIC 9 Pro (16GB+512GB) – RM4,499

There will be an early bird promo to mark the launch, which will see prices of the the 12GB+256GB model drop to RM2,949 (RM750 OFF) and the 16GB+512GB model drop to RM3,749 (RM750 OFF). The promo will run from only the 1st to 8th of January 2024.

As with last year’s REDMAGIC 8 Pro, the REDMAGIC 9 Pro will feature dual processor chips; the first being the aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and the second the dedicated Red Core 2 responsible for handling haptics and audio processing, among other things.

REDMAGIC also maintains the 520Hz shoulder triggers on the 9 Pro, but this time, it comes with customizable lights. The ICE cooling system now comes with an improved 22,000rpm (compared to 22,000 on the 8 Pro), promising efficient cooling and heat dissipation.

The 9 Pro is fitted with a 6.8″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2480x1116px) resolution. Refresh rates reaches 120Hz, while peak brightness goes up to 1,600nits. All this is protected under a sturdy layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Batteries also gets a boost with the 9 Pro now packing a 6,500mAh dual cell battery (compared to 6,000 on the 8 Pro), though charging remains the same at 80W.

Other noteworthy mentions is the dual speakers with DTS:X Ultra certification for immersive audio, as well as its dual 50MP cameras.

The REDMAGIC 9 Pro comes in three designs: Sleet (black with silver accents), available only with the 12GB+256GB variant; as well as Cyclone (black with gold accents), and Snowfall (white), both available with the 16GB+512 variants.

    Latest ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED now available with RM4,499 starting price

    The latest of ASUS’ premium ultraportable Zenbooks has arrived. The Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405) is already available in Malaysia and will be the first in the nation to feature the Intel Core Ultra processors.

    The two variants and its official pricing in Malaysia are as listed below:

    • ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405); Intel Core Ultra 7 155G, 32GB/1TB – RM5,999
    • ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405); Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 16GB/512GB – RM4,499

    Regardless of which you choose, all variants come with an Intel Arc graphics card.

    The new Zenbooks are on the shelves are we speak, and you can get them at all ASUS authorised resellers near you.

    In its usual fashion, the Zenbook is a lightweight choice weighing in at only 1.2kg, with a 14.9mm slim profile. Its displays are set to impress with its 14″ Lumina OLED display, packing 3K (2880x1800px) resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. Peak brightness, on the other hand, reaches up to 600nits.

    According to ASUS, you can expect up to 15 hours of unplugged operation thanks to its 75Wh battery.

    At the front is a Full HD IR camera which you can use to set your Face ID. There is also a built-in physical shutter for tightened security.

    Speakers are Harman Kardon-certified, further enhanced by multidimensional Dolby Atmos sound.

    For I/O ports, you have the options of 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1x HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405) supports WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.
