REDMAGIC 10 Air with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 unveiled; RM800 discounts for early birds
The REDMAGIC 10 Air has arrived as the brand’s latest contender in the mobile gaming scene. This is the watered down version of the REDMAGIC 10 Pro that aims to give consumers the best of its flagship features under a friendlier price tag.
As such, the REDMAGIC 10 Air is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a chipset that still holds up well despite being just over a year old. Supplementing this is REDMAGIC’s proprietary RedCore R3 co-processor designed to offload auxiliary gaming functions – such as haptic feedback, audio processing, and RGB lighting – from the Snapdragon chip.
The phone maintains its gaming roots by incorporating 520Hz shoulder triggers on the landscape edge of the phone. Additionally, the RGB lighting iconic to REDMAGIC phones are still present, albeit in a more discreet manner.
For cooling, the REDMAGIC 10 Air features a 9-layer ICE Cooling System, utilizing a combination of liquid metal, vaopur chamber, and an internal fan for thermal management. Powering your gaming streak is a sizable 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging. Despite all these components, the phone measures a slim 7.85mm and keeps to a modest 205g weight.
On to the displays, the 10 Air retains the 6.8″ AMOLED panels, but with only 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600nits peak brightness (vs. the 144Hz and 2,000nits brightness on the REDMAGIC 10 Pro).
Cameras are kept to a dual system consisting of a 50MP main camera with OIS support, as well as a 50MP ultra-wide angle.
It’s interesting that the REDMAGIC 10 Air comes not too long after ASUS unveiled the ROG Phone 9 FE back in March. It’s likely the 10 Air will rival the Phone 9 FE to capture the upper mid-tier segment of mobile gaming enthusiast. For the record, the ROG Phone 9 FE launched with a single 12GB/256GB variant priced at RM2,999.
REDMAGIC 10 Air price in Malaysia
The REDMAGIC 10 Air is available in two configurations in Malaysia: a 12GB/256GB model priced at RM3,199, and a 16GB/512GB model retailing at RM4,099.
Interested customers will enjoy early bird promos between 5 May and 31 May 2025. During this period, the price of the 12GB/256GB model will reduce to RM2,699, while the 16GB/512GB model will see its price drop down to RM3,299. Moreover, customers will also receive a REDMAGIC Cooler 6 Air worth RM199.
The REDMAGIC 10 Air is available in two designs: Twilight and Hailstone. The phone will be available for purchase online at REDMAGIC official stores on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, and the brand’s official website.
