realme teases upcoming 14 Series 5G; Appoints Soloz and Team Vamos as Chief Gaming Officers

By PriceShop News March 20, 2025

realme has offered a first look at its upcoming realme 14 Series 5G, which includes the realme 14 5G and realme 14 Pro 5G.

The realme 14 5G adopts a Mecha-inspired design, incorporating geometric lines created using nanoscale lithography technology. This design approach gives the phone a distinct, mechanical aesthetic. One of the standout features is the Victory Halo light on the back of the device. More than just a decorative element, the light activates during gaming sessions, charging, and for notifications and alarms.

The device will be available in three colour options: Mecha Silver, Storm Titanium, and Warrior Pink. While realme has not yet revealed detailed specifications for the realme 14 5G and realme 14 Pro 5G, more information is expected soon.

Alongside the first-look event, realme also announced its collaboration with Malaysian gamer Fariz “Soloz” Zakaria and esports team Team Vamos. Both have been appointed as the brand’s official Chief Gaming Officers, further reinforcing realme’s focus on gaming performance and the mobile gaming community.

ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 now available in Malaysia; Priced at RM2,999

By Timothy Teoh March 19, 2025

ASUS Malaysia has confirmed the newest addition to the ROG Phone 9 Series – the ROG Phone 9 FE. It joins the ROG Phone 9 and Phone 9 Pro which launched in December 2024.

Like most other FE models in the industry, the ROG Phone 9 FE is essentially a toned down variant of its top-line siblings, with enhancements in key areas that makes it a more appealing option than last year’s ROG Phone 8 Series.

For starters, the ROG Phone 9 FE utilizes Qualcomm’s 2024 flagship chipset – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – rather than this year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. Performance is supported by 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

To this extent, it largely resembles the ROG Phone 8. Where it differentiates itself is on aesthetics, with the Phone 9 FE taking after its siblings by incorporating the AniMe Vision dot matrix display. In fact, with 341 togglable mini LEDs decorating the back panels, it surpasses even the base ROG Phone 9 which only has 85 LEDs. In comparison, the Phone 9 Pro sports a whopping 648 mini LEDs.

Meanwhile, the main display is maintains a 6.78″ E6 AMOLED screen offering FHD+ (2400×1080) resolution and up to 185Hz refresh rates and 2,500nits peak brightness.

ASUS has also kept the AirTriggers on the ROG Phone 9 FE, along with supplementary gaming features such as X Sense 3.0, X Capture 2.0, and AI Grabber 2.0.

As for cameras, you can expect the same array that’s on the ROG Phone 8. That is, you’ll get a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 5MP macro. Elsewhere at the front is a 32MP selfie shooter.

Batteries do take a slight hit with the FE model now packing a 5,500mAh battery rather than the larger 5,800mAh used on the flagship models.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

ROG Phone 9 FE price in Malaysia

The ROG Phone 9 FE is priced at RM2,999 in Malaysia, and is now available at all authorized ASUS resellers.

However, as part of ASUS’ ongoing ROG Phone 9 Epic Raya Special campaign, users who purchase any ROG Phone 9 Series device, including the 9 FE, will receive RM300 Touch ‘n Go eWallet credits.

The campaign will run from 19 March to 30th April 2025.
