realme GT 7 Pro is the first Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phone in Malaysia; Priced at RM3,699
realme Malaysia has the honours of being the first in Malaysia to bring in the Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU. The chipset is positioned as Qualcomm’s leading processor for 2025, and will soon be seen in flagship Android devices all over.
In Malaysia at least, the realme GT 7 Pro will take credit as the first in the country to utilize the CPU.
According to realme, the Snapdragon 8 Elite offers 45% improvement in single-core and multi-core performance over its 8 Gen 3 predecessor. This, together with 44% power savings on CPU and 40% on the GPU.
Chipset aside, the GT 7 Pro comes in a single configuration of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It sports a 6.78″ Eco2 OLED display offering 2780×1264 resolution, with an impressive peak brightness of 6,500nits and 120% DCI-P3 colour gamut.
As for cameras, you’ll have a triple array consisting of the 50MP IMX906 main camera. This is flanked by the 50MP IMX882 periscope camera with 3x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide lens backed by the IMX355 sensor.
There’s also an Underwater Image Mode, which, because of its IP69 resistance, allows underwater photography even when the phone is fully submerged.
The GT 7 Pro receives a commendable 6,500mAh battery supporting 120W wired charging. There’s also a 11,480mm2 dual vapour chamber for heat dissipation.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is touted as one of the best AI processors ever developed, so it’s unsurprising that the GT 7 Pro comes with a slew of AI features. These include Sketch to Image, AI Motion Deblur, AI Snap Mode, and AI Game Super Resolution, among many others.
The realme GT 7 Pro is available in Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey. It retails at RM3,699 in Malaysia and will be available for purchase starting 19 November 2024. Early birds will be entitled to free gifts worth RM698, including a pair of realme Buds Air 5 and a year extended warranty.
