realme GT 7 Pro will be the first smartphone in Malaysia to utilize Snapdragon 8 Elite
realme has confirmed that their upcoming GT 7 Pro will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the first phone in Malaysia to do so.
Qualcomm’s recently unveiled Snapdragon 8 Elite is set to be the main processor for the majority of flagship Android devices in 2025. It succeeds the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and subsequently marks a new era of naming conventions for the California-based semiconductor company.
Qualcomm has seemingly aligned their mobile CPUs with the laptop CPUs, which at this point are categorized into Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus.
Early benchmarks and claims of the Snapdragon 8 Elite are promising. In terms of CPU performance, Qualcomm has integrated the Oryon CPU which they say promises to deliver 45% performance boost and 44% greater efficiency. The Adreno GPU’s new architecture also sees 40% enhanced performance and 40% efficiency.
The use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite on the realme GT 7 Pro also hints at improved AI capabilities via the Hexagon NPU, although realme has not yet elaborated on further key specs and features of the phone.
One thing realme Malaysia has confirmed is its imminent launch slated for November. Other than that, we also have confirmation on the phone’s two colourways: Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey.
