Realme C85 now available in Malaysia for RM59/month from Hotlink

Realme’s latest midrange smartphone has seemingly landed in Malaysia. The Realme C85 hasn’t technically launched on our shores yet, but you can actually already get your hands on one now thanks to their partner telco Hotlink.

Despite not launching the phone just yet, Realme Malaysia is collaborating with Hotlink to offer the Realme C85 first to those who subsribe to the Hotlink Postpaid 70 plan. Based on their Facebook post, it appears that the C85 will come with a RM1,099 price tag; however, with the Hotlink Postpaid 70 plan you can get it for as low as RM59 per month on a 24-month contract or for RM359 per month on a 12-month contract.

The phone itself is a pretty sleek midrange device, sporting a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 system-on-chip with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s also a 50MP main camera on the back with an 8MP selfie shooter upfront. Slightly disappointing is its 6.8-inch LCD display as even though it has a 144Hz refresh rate, its resolution is only 720p.

Standout features however include a massive 7,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, as well as what they’re calling an IP69 Pro dust and water resistance rating. In fact, the Realme C85 was recently awarded the Guinness World Record for the title of ‘Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Water-Resistance Test Simultaneously’. They achieved this by having 280 people, each with a Realme C85, submerge their device into a swimming pool at the same time for two full minutes, without a single device failing after that.

In any case, if you aren’t a Hotlink user but would like to get the Realme C85 for yourself, then you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for the Chinese smartphone brand to officially launch it in Malaysia. If you do want to get the Hotlink Postpaid 70 plan though, then you’ll be signing up for 150GB (4G/5G) + 150GB (5G) of data quota, free roaming in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia as well as unlimited hotspot and SMS—find out more about it by clicking here.
